Home Interior Maintenance
Home improvement: It’s a never-ending process for many people, and for those of us who aren’t necessarily handy, it can be a hassle, too.
But there are plenty of simple maintenance tasks and other improvements you can handle to make your home safer. Here are some easy ways to get started:
Water Works
- Check your appliances: Look for kinks and cracks in hoses once a year.
- Watch the pressure: Use an inexpensive gauge to test water pressure.
- Install sensors: Use water leak detectors to alert you via smartphone.
Keep Your Family On Their Feet
- Reduce clutter: Clear walkways of furniture and area rugs.
- Add stability: Ensure stairs have sturdy rails and non-slip strips.
- Improve lighting: Keep walkways well-lit with night lights.
Give Everyone Some Air
- Test detectors: Check your carbon-monoxide and smoke detectors regularly.
- Maintain filters: Clean furnace filters and ducts to improve air quality.
